What a difference a day makes.....

We left home at 3AM! It was raining and as always there was a last minute rush. The taxi was a little van just for us. The trip in seemed to take forever and the airport at Sydney wasn't completely deserted.

Our plane was full. Lots of people traveling to Dubai and either transiting like us or returning to the Arab Peninsula. The Dubai airport was just as expected, big, expansive and very new. No expense spared. Interesting to see English and Arabic signs together. The main concourse was as busy as Pitt Street! The second leg from Dubai to Paris wasn't as long but we were all a bit tired.

We arrived in Paris at 8pm local time & proceeded through immigration (easy) & customs (non existent unless you were randomly selected), met our transfer shuttle driver & were driven to our Paris apartments, Citadines, on the River Seine.

Gosh!! How close is Notre Dame??? After a light very late night dinner at a pizzeria just a couple of blocks from our apartments, we walked to Notre Dame to view the cathedral lit up for the night complete with Christmas Tree!!  DD & DS were very tired so off to bed for our first night's sleep in Paris. (DH says we are staying at these apartments every time we come to Paris from now on).
